I can't edit a section of my site
Sites on adlens live in one of two editing worlds: sites made of real code files, and sites made of sections. Each world has its own tools, and reaching for the other world's tools is the usual reason an edit seems impossible. Once you know which world your site is in, everything is editable.
Two worlds, two sets of tools
A site the AI built is a real project: its pages are code files you can see in the editor's Code tab. On one of these, section-level tools and Make it Yours change nothing a visitor sees, because there are no sections to move: the page is code. The way in is to ask for the change in chat, or to edit the files yourself in the Code tab. Either way the site rebuilds itself and the change goes live.
An older site made of sections is the reverse: section editing is exactly the right tool, and the code tools refuse it, because there are no files to edit. If you ask for a code change on one of these, you will be pointed back to section editing. That refusal is the site telling you which world it lives in.
How to tell which kind of site you have
Open the editor's Code tab. Files listed there means it is a code site, and the files are the way to change anything. No files means it is a section site, and the section tools apply.
Convert a themed site to code
A site wearing one of the converted themes but holding no files yet shows a Convert to code button in the Code tab. One click writes the same design into the site as real files: same look, same pages, now editable line by line. Nothing about the design changes in the conversion; what changes is that every color, every word, and every layout decision becomes a line you or the AI can edit directly.
If an edit still does not take
If you asked for a change and nothing moved, check the world first: a section edit on a code site succeeds silently and changes nothing visitors see, which reads like a broken edit but is really the wrong tool. Redo the change through chat or the Code tab and it will land. If a code edit was refused, the refusal names why, most often a syntax problem, and fixing the line fixes the edit. And remember the timing rule from the preview article: a landed edit takes about 15 seconds to build plus up to a minute at the edge before every visitor sees it.
