Memory: what the assistant remembers
Memory is the set of durable facts the assistant carries between chats: your rules, your preferences, who you sell to, the brand calls you have already made. It is why the tenth conversation starts smarter than the first.
Where it lives
Memory lives with projects: the Memory button on the Projects page, and the Memory row in each project's rail. Memory and projects together are the workspace's brain, the thing every chat and background run reads before it works.
The page draws your memories as a constellation grouped by kind: constraint, preference, brand, audience, fact, reference. A constraint is a rule the assistant must not break; a preference is how you like things done; the rest are what they sound like.
How memories get made
Mostly, by talking. State a rule, a preference, or a brand decision in any chat and the assistant keeps it, quietly. It never announces that it remembered something; the fact just holds from then on.
You can also add one deliberately with the composer on the Memory page, which is the right move for anything you want on record before it ever comes up in conversation.
Importing what another tool already knows
The Import button brings over a CLAUDE.md, a ChatGPT memory list, an AGENTS.md, or any pasted brief. It parses the text, previews every fact it found, and saves only what you tick. Nothing lands unreviewed, so an import cannot quietly fill your memory with someone else's assumptions.
What is deliberately never stored
Transient state: a task's status, a draft, a number a live lookup can fetch, anything that will be false next week. A stale memory is worse than none, because it gets recited with confidence.
Standing rules for one body of work belong in that project's instructions, not in memory. Memory is for what holds across every project: how the business talks, who its customer is, what it refuses to sell.
When it does not work
The assistant keeps repeating something that is wrong: correct it in chat. Contradicting a memory updates it on the spot. Deleting one is confirm-gated, so you get a Confirm button before a fact is forgotten for good.
The assistant forgot something you told it: check whether it was ever a durable fact. Task state and this-week details are never stored by design. If it was a real rule, add it on the Memory page so it is on record.
An import brought in things you did not want: it can only save what you ticked in the preview, so review the constellation and delete what should not be there.
