Edit your site's code
Every built site's files live in the editor's Code tab, and every line in them is yours to change. Ask in chat, or open the file yourself: either way the site rebuilds around the change in about 15 seconds.
The Code tab
Open the editor and the Code tab sits beside the preview. It holds the site's own source: pages, components, the stylesheet, the route list. Every site built by the current engine is a real project, so on a new site the tab is never empty.
Hovering a file starts a chat about it. That is the fastest way to ask what a file does, or to point a change at exactly the right place.
Changes through chat
Ask the assistant to change a headline, recolor a button, or take a section off a page, and it edits the exact lines in the file that owns them, then queues a rebuild. The rebuild lands in about 15 seconds, and the assistant tells you it is rebuilding rather than pretending the change is already live.
Every edit is checked before it saves. An edit that breaks the TypeScript is refused with the compiler's own line, and nothing is saved, so a bad edit cannot take your site down.
What happens to the old version
Every overwrite keeps the copy it replaced. There is no self-serve restore button, so you cannot roll a file back yourself, but the previous copy is not gone: if work is lost, the adlens team can put it back. For everyday mistakes the practical fix is simpler, since the assistant can rewrite the file to what you want in the same chat.
Older sites work differently
Sites built before the unified build path are band sites: pages assembled from sections rather than from files. On those, the code tools refuse and section-level editing applies instead, and that is by design, not a fault.
Many themed sites can cross over. If your Code tab shows a Convert to code button, one click writes the theme's own design into your site as real files, same design, same pages, now editable code.
When it does not work
The edit was refused: read the reason. A TypeScript error names the exact line, and the assistant fixes its own edit and tries again. Nothing was saved in the meantime.
You lost work you cannot reconstruct: the previous copy of every overwritten file is kept. Contact the adlens team and they can restore it.
The Code tab says your design is not code yet: your site is a band site. Use section editing, or press Convert to code if the button is offered, and the files appear.
