Group products into collections
Collections are how your shop gets shape: a summer drop, a bestsellers row, a services page. Group any products under a named collection and place it on the sites where it belongs.
What a collection does
A collection is a named group of products your storefront can show together. The products themselves do not move or change; a collection is a lens over the catalog. One product can sit in several collections at once.
Create one from Collections in your Studio with a title, an optional description, and the products it holds, or tell the assistant to group them, for example group the candles and the diffusers into a collection called Home.
Placing a collection on your sites
Collections are one of the seven content types the workspace places on sites through Show on connectors, alongside products, events, forms, lead pages, posts, and popups. The rule is the same for all seven: no connection means the collection shows on every site, and a connection means it shows only on the sites you picked.
This is what lets one workspace run several sites with different storefronts. Put your retail collection on the shop site and your services collection on the studio site, and each site shows only its own.
Editing the product list
One behavior to know before you edit: updating a collection's product list replaces the whole list. It does not append. If a collection holds five products and you update it naming two, it now holds two.
So when you add a product to an existing collection, the full list gets written back with the new product included. The assistant handles this for you when you ask it to add something, which is the safest way to grow a collection.
When it does not work
Products vanished from a collection after an edit: the update replaced the list with only what was named. Edit the collection again and include everything that belongs, the missing products are untouched and rejoin instantly.
A collection is missing from a site: check its Show on placement. If it is connected to specific sites, it only renders there; clear the placement to show it everywhere.
A product in the collection is not visible: the collection can only show active products that are themselves placed on that site. Check the product's own status and placement.
