Turn on live chat
A messenger on your site means a visitor with a question does not leave to find the answer. Live chat is off by default, takes one switch to turn on, and everything about it lives in one place: your inbox.
What you get
Live chat is a messenger widget that mounts on every public page of your site once you enable it. Visitors open it to ask questions, browse your help articles, and talk to you or to the AI that answers on your behalf.
The whole surface manages from /app/inbox: your conversations, the widget's settings, and the knowledge base the AI answers from. There is nothing to install and nothing to paste into your pages.
Turn it on
Open /app/inbox and go to Settings. Flip the messenger on. That is the whole setup: the widget appears on your public pages immediately.
You can also just ask the assistant to set up live chat. It turns the messenger on, writes an on-brand greeting, and drafts a few starter help articles from what it knows about your workspace, then reports what it built.
Make it yours
The settings pane shows a live mockup of the visitor's messenger that repaints on every change, so you always see exactly what a visitor will see before you save.
You control the colour, the teaser line, the greeting, and the reply-time note. You also pick the widget's position (right or left side of the page), the launcher icon (chat, lines, or spark), and the theme (dark or light). The defaults are right, chat, and dark.
More than one site
In a workspace with several sites, the settings pane grows a site picker. Choosing All sites edits the workspace default that every site follows. Choosing one site writes settings for that site alone.
Overrides work field by field: a site without its own value inherits the workspace default for that field. A site that has overrides shows a single button, Reset this site to the workspace default, which clears its overrides so it inherits everything again.
Help articles are the exception: they are shared by every site in the workspace. Write them once and every messenger serves them.
When the widget does not show
If the messenger is missing everywhere, chat is still off. Open /app/inbox, go to Settings, and check the toggle.
If it is missing on one site but shows on the others, that site has its own override with chat turned off. Pick that site in the site picker and either enable it there or press Reset this site to the workspace default.
If you changed a setting and one site did not pick it up, the same thing is happening in reverse: that site has an override for the field you edited, so workspace changes no longer reach it. Reset the site, or edit the field on the site itself.
