Lead capture popups
A popup asks for an email before the visitor leaves. Pick a style, set when it appears and how often, then activate it: every address it collects lands in your Leads inbox.
What a popup does
Popups live at /app/popups, the popups tab of your Leads page. An active popup auto-shows on your public site, asks the visitor for their email, and saves it straight into the Leads inbox. You can also collect a phone number alongside the email if you want one.
A popup carries its own copy: a headline, an optional eyebrow line above it, body text, the button label, and the success message the visitor sees after subscribing. Write the headline as the reason to hand over an email, not as a description of the popup.
Pick a style
There are four styles: solid, image background, image left, and image right. Solid is a colored card with your copy on it. The three image styles need an image: image background puts your copy over the photo, image left and image right split the popup between the photo and the copy.
Every style takes your own colors: background, text, button, and button text. Match them to the site the popup shows on so it reads as part of the page, not as an ad landing on top of it.
Timing and frequency
Timing is a delay in seconds: how long the visitor is on the page before the popup appears. A few seconds of delay reads far better than a popup that fires the instant the page loads, give people a moment to see what your site is before you ask for their email.
Frequency decides how often one visitor sees it. Session shows it once per visit. Once shows it a single time ever for that visitor. Always shows it on every page load. Once is the polite default for a newsletter ask, session suits a limited-time offer, and always is rarely the right answer.
Activate it
A new popup is a draft, and a draft never shows to visitors. When the copy, style, and timing are right, set it to active and it goes live on your public site.
Turning it off is the same switch in reverse: set the popup back to draft and it stops showing immediately. You never have to delete a popup to pause it.
When the popup does not show
It is still a draft: this is the most common reason. Check its status on /app/popups and set it to active.
You chose an image style without an image: image background, image left, and image right all need an image set. Add one, or switch the style to solid.
You already saw it: with frequency set to once or session, the popup remembers you. Open your site in a private browser window to see it as a first-time visitor does.
It shows on the wrong site: popups are placed on sites the same way as other content, through Show on. Pin it to the sites where it belongs.
It is missing from an exported copy of your site: popups need the adlens server behind them, so a downloaded static export of your site does not carry them. On your live adlens site they keep working as normal.
