QR check-in at the door
Every ticket carries a QR code, and your phone is the scanner. No hardware, no exported spreadsheet at the door, and a live answer to the only question that matters at 9 p.m.: how many actually showed up.
The scanner
The door scanner lives at /app/checkin and runs natively in the page: pick your event and scan tickets with the camera. It works on the phone already in your pocket.
For the door person who should land straight in the scanner, share the link with ?scan=1. That deep-links directly into the camera, no picking, no menus.
What the guest holds
When someone buys or RSVPs, their ticket arrives by email with its QR code, plus a PDF download. Each ticket's public page and QR live behind its own unique token, so a ticket link is private to its holder and each ticket scans as itself.
Attendance, sold versus scanned
Check-in feeds the attendance report: tickets sold versus tickets actually scanned, broken down per tier, with a check-in rate. That answers "how many showed up", "who is at the door tonight", and, the morning after, which tier actually filled the room.
Ask the Studio assistant directly: "how many people checked in to Friday's show" pulls the live numbers.
When it does not work
The camera will not open: your browser has not granted camera access to the page. Allow camera access when prompted, or enable it for the site in your browser settings, then reload /app/checkin.
A guest has no QR to show: their ticket email has it, and the PDF download from their confirmation has it too. Have them search their inbox for the event name.
The scanned count looks low: sold and scanned are different numbers on purpose. Sold is who paid, scanned is who walked in. If the door crew skipped scanning for a stretch, the check-in rate will show it, so make scanning the habit at every door.
