Why event money is held until after the show
Ticket sales are real the moment they happen, but the cash releases 2 days after the event ends. Here is why the hold exists, what it covers, and where to see exactly what you are waiting on.
The 2-day hold
Ticket revenue for an event releases 2 days after the event ends. It is a buyer-protection hold: money moves once the show has actually happened. It protects buyers, and it protects you as an organizer from disputes on a show that has not run yet.
The hold is per event. Sell tickets to three shows and each show's revenue releases on its own clock, 2 days after that show ends.
Courses run their own clocks
Course deposits and instalment payments carry their own separate release clocks, independent of the event hold. A deposit paid in June for a course ending in August does not wait for August.
Where to see your money
The payouts summary shows what is pending release versus paid out. Find it in the Payouts tab at /app/insights, with the full payouts dashboard at /app/payments. Or ask the assistant: "when is my next payout" pulls the live numbers.
Expect net to be smaller than gross. Net is gross minus refunds, minus the platform fee (5% on tickets, with no per-ticket flat fee, and $0 on free tickets), minus card processing fees. That net figure is what lands in your account.
When it does not work
My sales have not hit my bank: this hold is almost always the answer. If the event has not ended yet, or ended less than 2 days ago, the money is pending release, not missing. Check the pending amount in the Payouts tab.
The event ended 2 days ago and I still see nothing: release and arrival are two steps. Once released, money pays out on your payout schedule, typically about 2 business days later. Check the most recent payout date at /app/payments.
The amount is smaller than my ticket sales: compare gross to net in the payouts summary. Refunds, the ticket platform fee, and processing fees account for the difference, line by line.
