How credits work
A credit is one unit of AI work, roughly one build message. Credits are the one thing adlens meters, and understanding the three balances tells you exactly why your number moved.
What a credit is
One credit is one unit of AI work, about what one build message costs, pegged at roughly $0.02 of model spend. Hosting, publishing, checkout, analytics, and everything else you do by hand are not metered at all.
Credits cover every kind of AI work on the platform: chat, planning, building, image, audio and video generation, background runs, and the AI replies your live chat sends to visitors.
Build credits and Run credits
Your spending splits into two labels. Build credits are the work you do yourself in the Studio: chat messages, plans, builds, image generation, Make-it-Yours edits.
Run credits are AI that works without you: background and scheduled runs, visitor live-chat replies, audits and digests. Both draw from the same wallet, the labels exist so the usage page can show you which half of the platform is doing the spending.
The three balances, and the order they spend in
You hold up to three balances at once, and the platform always spends the one closest to expiry first.
Daily credits come first. Free workspaces get 10 a day, capped at 75 a month. Pro gets 15 a day and Business 30 a day, with no monthly cap. Daily credits reset at 00:00 UTC and never roll over, so use them or lose them.
Monthly plan credits come second: 150 a month on Pro, 400 on Business. These roll over while you stay subscribed.
Purchased top-ups come last, and they never expire. Because they spend last, a top-up sits safely at the bottom of the wallet until your daily and monthly credits are gone.
Where to see your balances
The credits card on /app/billing shows your total balance with the monthly and purchased split beneath it, and a daily refresh row that names the reset time. Each row carries an info tooltip with the fine print, including how much of this month's daily allowance is left.
When the numbers look wrong
Balance dropped overnight without you touching anything: that is daily credits expiring. They reset at midnight UTC and never carry forward, so the unused portion of yesterday's daily allowance disappears on schedule.
A Free workspace stops getting daily credits mid-month: the 10 a day on Free is capped at 75 a month. Once you hit the cap, daily refills pause until the new month.
A job cost more than the listed price: every price is a starting price that rises with how much work the job actually took. Open the usage breakdown to see the real spend per day and per project.
Worried your top-up vanished: purchased credits never expire and spend last. If your total moved, it was daily or monthly credits doing the moving first.
